What is PTO?
The mission of the Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) at ECDS is to develop and facilitate communication between the family and school through an organization that supports all school functions and fundraising activities.  Through this organization, ECDS can help its families build a community by fostering relationships and inspiring volunteerism.

PTO Meetings

PTO Meetings will be held the first Wednesday of every month in the Elementary & Middle school lunchroom.  These meetings will begin promptly after Town Hall Meeting at 9:00 a.m.  Coffee and refreshments will be provided.  Please turn cell phones to vibrate to avoid distraction during the meeting.  These meetings will last approximately 1 hour.  Please try to attend these meetings.  Your participation is essential for a successful PTO.  If these meetings do not work with your schedule, there are many other ways to get involved.  Please review the following outline and let us know where you can help!  Committees for the various fundraising events will form and host their own meetings throughout the year at times that are convenient to the committee.  Please get involved!  This is a very fun way to help ECDS and to meet new families!

Volunteer Opportunities

School Functions are those functions held during the school year and require PTO support.  These functions are not fundraising activities; however, they are essential to our school community.  School functions are planned by the teachers and staff at ECDS and volunteers are needed during each event.If there is a school function that is of particular interest to you, please let us know.

School Support Activities are essential to the operation of the school and daily activities.  Click here to review the many opportunities to volunteer. Throughout the year, PTO and room parents will call or email families to help with these events. 

School Event Committees and Fundraising Committees are larger events and require many volunteers.  These events are planned and executed by the respective PTO committees.  The committee members will determine meeting times for these committees; reports for the committees will be presented at the monthly PTO meetings.  The committees are responsible for promoting and informing ECDS families about the event. 

It is the goal of the PTO to encourage participation from every family at ECDS.  Our expectations are that each family participate in school functions, school support activities, and participate on at least one event committee during the year.
