Weekly News & Announcements

Thank you to everyone that attended Wish Upon a Star: Casablanca. Final numbers are not yet in, but the night was a tremendous success. A huge thank you to Lauren Lauritano, event chair, and all of the volunteers that spent countless hours working to make the evening a successful and unforgettable party for all in attendance. The “Direct Appeal” was focused on the performing arts, in which over $60,000 was pledged in support of the ECDS Performing arts program. This will allow us to spend some extra resources to fully utilize our performing arts spaces in the new building.  We will be having a Silent Auction on Monday to sell the few items that are still available from Saturday night.  The Cayman Island trip is available June 7th – 14th.

Congratulations to William Beardall. The Beardalls will be moving to the UK at the end of the school year. William, current fifth grader and ECDS student since 2001, was accepted into all six schools that he applied to in the UK. The application process involved separate and intensive entrance examinations at each school. William was not only accepted to all six schools but received the Governor’s Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement at King’s MacClessfield School.  He was also accepted to Manchester Grammar, considered one of the most competitive independent schools in the UK. He has yet to hear on some scholarships. While we will be sad to see the Beardalls leave Colorado and ECDS, we congratulate William on this great achievement.

Remember to return your reenrollment agreements if you have not already done so. Some classes are at or near capacity, and others are close. Regardless of the status of the class, it is helpful to the budgeting process to have the agreements returned as quickly as possible. As always, if you have any questions regarding next year, please do not hesitate to schedule an appointment. I would be happy to meet with you to discuss details of the program, and information regarding our move into the new facility.  Thank you for your continued commitment to ECDS.

Along the lines of enrollment, we are now in a period of open enrollment for next year. We need all of your help in growing enrollment at ECDS. Encourage friends and neighbors to schedule a visit to the school and see first hand what an ECDS education could mean for their child.

The Physical Education department has just purchased some new supplies for late winter and spring physical education activities. Mr. Anderson will be doing a golf unit with some of the students and is looking for the donation of some junior golf clubs that you may have around the house. Donations may be delivered to Mr. Anderson.

Reminder: only two weeks until Spring Break. We break following classes on Thursday, March 20 and classes resume on Monday, March 31.

Thank you and have a great weekend.

Sincerely,
